The Green Outlet - Our Story

The Green Outlet, LLC, started in 2009 and was created with necessity to provide a portable, safe, source of power during a disaster. After dealing with the noise and fumes of gas powered generators, being frustrated by long lines at the gas station, only to find out gas was limited, or sold out, having to refill the generator every 6 hours; we knew there " had to be a better way" to provide a simple, convenient back-up power source.
We use solar energy to heat and run some basic electronics in our home now, why couldn't we come up with a way to utilize that same concept to create a portable power source?
Our goals were to have limited amount of power when the grid is down; to avoid being in the dark, to keep food from spoiling, to have the capability to keep cool in the summer, to have the limited use of other appliances and not to be dependent on gas.
The idea for a solar power generator was born. After months of reseach and development we now have a portable solar generator that can be set up in minutes and is dependent on nothing more the sun. Solar powered generators can provide emergency electrical power in the event of a disaster and they can be utilized everyday to reduce you electrical bill. They generate free energy from the sun, are non-polluting and have no direct impact on the environment. They make no noise and give off no exhaust. Solar powered generators have no moving parts to break down; have a long life and durability; photovoltic(PV) cells typically last 25-30 years or more. The power generated can be used to run most kitchen appliances, including most full size refrigerators, household items, a room air conditioner, entertainment electronics, office equipment and/or power tools.
